KEY CREW BIOGRAPHIES
ROB GRAY – DIRECTOR
Rob has worked extensively as a production designer since 1984. He has designed many award winning films and has worked
throughout Canada, Great Britain, Europe and the US. Rob won two Genie awards for the films Fido and Falling Angels. He recently
completed work on the sea epics, The Sea Wolf and Moby
Dick. Rob founded Wildfield Productions with
producer Marilyn Flak and has directed two dance film, a music video and three short films.
MARILYN FLAK – PRODUCER
Along with Rob Gray, Marilyn founded Wildfield Productions with the aim of working collectively
in the productions of music videos, short films, documentaries and eventually feature films. She produced two dance films,
Salmo del Viento and Arenal, which screened at Festivals in Toronto, New York and Buenos Aires. Marilyn
co-produced the short film Possibilities, which played as festivals around the world and toured with the TIFF Film
Circuit for two years before airing on Air Canada and CBC. She also co-produced Unremarkable Moments of Being.
RENA POLLEY – WRITER, CO-PRODUCER, ACTOR
Rena has co-written,
produced and performed in six productions with Stiletto Theatre Company. Their production of Derailed was nominated
for four Dora Theatre Awards and the play, (written in conjunction with Emil Sher), was published by Playwrights Canada. She
wrote, performed and co-produced with Wildfield Productions two short films, Possibilities and Unremarkable Moments of Being. Rena has acted in film and numerous television movies and was nominated for a “Best Actress
Award” at the Yorkton Film Festival for Keeper, a short film produced at the Canadian Film Center.
PAUL TOLTON – DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Paul has worked as a DOP on many award winning television shows, documentaries,
movies-of-the-week and commercials. He won a Golden Sheaf award and was nominated for a Gemini for his work on the CBC film
Shadow Pleasures. Feature films include Eve (Body
& Earth), and second unit on Octane and Last to Surrender. Paul has been the DOP on all of Wildfield Production films.
TOM MCMURTY – EDITOR
Tom has over 25 years of film experience as an editor, post supervisor and sound designer. He has
worked on a combination of Hollywood features alongside Canadian independent films. As an editor Tom has
worked on The Cutting Edge, The Air Up There, Kazaam, and Candyman
while also working on Canadian independent features H, Mustard Bath, and Boozecan. Tom recently was the
sound mixer to Bruce MacDonald’s feature Trigger and editor on IMAX feature Journey to Mecca.
JIM CUDDY – ORIGINAL MUSIC
Jim is a founding member of Blue Rodeo. He has won numerous Juno awards, Country Music Awards and
was recently given a star on the Canadian Walk of Fame.
With Blue Rodeo, Jim has made 12 studio albums, two
live albums and a greatest hits collection, selling in excess of four million copies around the world. Jim has just released
his third solo record "Skyscraper Soul" including the song from the film "Waters Running High".
ROB BERTOLA – SOUND DESIGN
Rob has worked in sound design and as a music editor on over 75 feature
films and television movies. He has won Genies, an Emmy Award and numerous Directors Guild Awards. Film
and television movies include: Eastern Promises, Flash
of Genius, Saw V, The Jane Show, A History of Violence (Directors
Guild Award), Lives of the Saints (Gemini Winner, DGC Award),
Hitler: The Rise to Evil (Emmy Award, DGC Award), New York Minute, The Music Man (Emmy Finalist), Joan of Arc (Emmy Finalist), Day One, (Emmy Award Finalist).
